Days After Mass Shooting in Nashville School, Congressman Maxwell Frost Slams Florida Senate for Passage of Permitless Gun Carry Bill

ORLANDO, FL — Days after the Nashville school shooting that left six dead, including three children, Congressman Maxwell Frost is calling out the Florida Senate for passing a new bill that would allowpermitless gun carry across the state, legislation that would undoubtedly lead to more gun violence in communities across Florida.

In a statement, Rep. Frost says:

“I join survivors and advocates in being absolutely disgusted that the state home to tragedies like Pulse and Parkland took 10 steps back when it comes to protecting our people from gun violence.

“Republicans in the Florida House and Senate are lying to Floridians when they say this legislation will make our communities safer – the fact of the matter is that we will have more guns on our streetsand more opportunities for the next tragedy to happen.

“Ron DeSantis is going to sign this bill into law not because it’s the right thing for Florida, but because he’s running for president. Every member that voted for this should be ashamed. This will result in more shootings and loss of life.”
