Frost Named to Science, Space, and Technology Committee
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Maxwell Alejandro Frost (FL-10) announced his appointment to the important and active Science, Space, and Technology Committee for the 118th Congress.
The Committee – which has jurisdiction over NASA, the Department of Homeland Security, the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Weather Service, and NOAA – will empower Congressman Frost to deliver on his commitment to environmental justice and protection, and fight for comprehensive solutions to the climate crisis facing Florida.
Through his work on SST, Rep. Frost will also work to support Central Florida’s burgeoning status as a simulation tech hub, which employs a strong workforce across major industries in Orlando such as aerospace, defense, healthcare, and aviation. Congressman Frost will also use his committee post to reaffirm Florida’s status as a central hub for NASA and space exploration.
“With the climate crisis knocking on our door, and Central Florida emerging as a leader in STEM research and space exploration – there is no better place for me to serve the people of Orlando than on the Science, Space, and Tech Committee,” said Rep. Frost. “I look forward to working alongside Ranking Member Lofgren and my Democratic colleagues to take steps towards bold and transformative action on climate change and the effects this crisis is having on our state and nation. As well as working to further empower Central Florida’s growing tech hub and the thousands of STEM workers who call Orlando home.”
