As Florida Gears Up for Legislative Session, Rep. Frost Slams Fascist Presidential Wannabee DeSantis and Republican Allies for Turning Their Backs on Working Floridians
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost (FL-10) released a statement as the Florida legislative session kicks off, marking the beginning of a long 60 days during which House and Senate Florida Republicans are expected to do Governor Ron DeSantis’s dirty work and pass bills attacking LGBTQ children, further restricting abortion access, and passing permitless gun carry that will inevitably endanger the lives of countless Floridians.
In a statement, Rep. Frost says:
“Our state is under attack by a man getting ready to abandon it to run for President, Governor Ron DeSantis is aided by his political lackeys in the Florida Legislature, who will do anything in their power to hand this governor wins at the cost of average Floridians trying to live their lives and provide for their families.
“Ron DeSantis talks about freedom while using his state power to take away liberties from those he disagrees with.
“He’s ignoring crises across our state, intimidating students and teachers in schools, and targeting brown, Black, Hispanic, and LGBTQ Floridians scared for the next GOP attack against their livelihoods and wellbeing.
“This governor pretends to care about freedom and liberty but is willing to step on our state to get to the White House. He is not fighting for working families, and the legislative session our country is about to witness will show that.”
