Congressman Maxwell Frost Statement on Violence in Gaza

WASHINGTON D.C. — Today, Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost (FL-10) released a statement following the continued violence in Gaza.

In a statement, Rep. Frost says:

“Our goal is for lasting peace, security, and self-determination, and with that in mind we must push for an urgent end to the bloodshed of innocent civilians in Gaza and Israel.

“I support Israel’s need to end the campaign of terror by Hamas, but the current tactics have led to the death of thousands of innocent people in Gaza. At this time, I am calling for Israel to suspend their bombing campaign in order for more innocent civilians to evacuate, to establish a humanitarian safe zone, and for humanitarian aid, which has been championed by the Biden Administration, to be able to enter Gaza.

“I acknowledge that it is unrealistic to expect that Hamas will heed this call to stand down due to their intent for violence and chaos.

“But Hamas is not fighting on behalf of the Palestinian people’s rights to dignity and self-determination, but rather for the complete destruction of Israel and the death of the Jewish people, and innocent Palestinian civilians cannot be the target for Israel’s defense.

“Ending senseless violence on our communities and children has been the fight of my life. I believe all people, Palestinian or Israeli, women and children, deserve that safety.”
