Congressman Maxwell Frost Slams Partisan Supreme Court’s Decision Protecting Convicted Criminal and Former President Donald Trump
ORLANDO, FL — Today, Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost (FL-10) released a statement following the Supreme Court’s ruling on Trump v. United States.
In a statement, Rep. Frost says:
“Our country and the world will now recognize this day as the day the Supreme Court of the United States effectively became an illegitimate, politically corrupt arm of the conservative right-wing.
“This Court, a third of which was hand selected by former President Trump, has bent the knee to a convicted criminal, accused of abusing his oath of office for his own political gain.
“With today’s decision, American Presidents will cease to be public servants and will instead become untouchable dictators, and unlike the American people, they will be above the law.
“Make no mistake — Donald Trump is a criminal who sought to use the office of the president to stage a violent insurrection and overrule a free and fair election.
“From local elections all the way up to the Supreme Court, the Republicans party of this country has for generations been planning to overtake and overthrow every branch of government in our democracy— all in an effort to impose their ultra conservative, Christian white nationalist agenda.
“They are coming for our rights, for our bodily autonomy, for our health and well-being, and for our very existence. Today, the Supreme Court proved they will not serve as a check on the Trump Administration, but as an enabler.”
