Congressman Maxwell Frost Praises New Biden Executive Order to Reduce Gun Violence

WASHINGTON, DC – As Florida moves towards permitless carry and takes action to enable more gun purchases, Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost (FL-10) released a statement praising President Biden for a new Executive Order that will take clear and effective steps to reduce gun violence and strengthen extreme risk protection orders and background checks.

Among other things, the President’s EO moves our nation as close to universal background checks as possible while offering federal support for survivors, victims and families, and entire communities impacted by gun violence.

In a statement, Rep. Frost says:

“President Biden’s new Executive Order makes it clear the Administration understands the clear and present danger that gun violence is posing in our communities on a daily basis.

“If a piece of legislation or action can save a single life from gun violence – it’s worth it.

“But let’s be clear that gun violence claims 100 lives a day, and it’s going to take more than action from a single president or a single party in order to save lives.

“This epidemic requires a comprehensive bipartisan legislative solution that ensures the protection of our second amendment rights while prioritizing community safety above all.”
